He really needs your help!

One of the worst infections we have seen.

This poor little guy showed up in yard in Hesperia, California Friday. Obviously in distress, he was tired of hiding and made a last ditch effort to find help. Fortunately he picked a yard of compassionate people who reached out to some dog rescues, and eventually got him to our good friend and fabulous rescuer, Faith Easdale.

We are working on getting the full story of what happened, but for now we know they people who found him in their yard got him to us, and Faith's friend Erin Osborne went and picked him up and drove him to Day Creek Animal Hospital in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Sunday September 17th. Dr. Sidhu came in to care for him on a Sunday, and as we are writing this his wound has been cleaned and drained, he is on an IV and stable, and awaiting the results of some blood tests that should be in Monday. He is no longer in pain, and his prognosis is good, but his left eye is destroyed, and must be removed. His right eye appears fine.

Before treatment:

Erin is a former Veterinary Tech and she says this is one of the worst infections she has seen. Dr. Sidhu thinks he has had this injury for at least a month, possibly two months. He is probably about 4 years-old. This little guy is a trooper. He was very happy at the vet office, and even though it clearly hurt when his wound was trained and cleaned, and some flesh removed, he suffered through it with only a little whimper now and then, never biting or acting out. We really think he knew he was finally safe and being treated!

After treatment:

Please help SHARE this guy's story! If you can donate, we could really use it! All donations are only for him, and are only paid to the vet directly. He will be available for adoption once he recovers, we have a really positive feeling about him so far, and expect him to be a great dog for someone!
