Someone Broke Her Legs!

Found stray in a ditch, first thought: hit by a car.

Vet exam reveals both legs intentionally broken.

Lucy was found in a ditch by a good samaritan. They contact Angels for Animals rescue for help who got her to an emergency vet and stabilized, and then to VCA Northside for surgery.

X-rays reveal that both rear legs are broken just above the knee, but she has no other injuries or "road-rash" or other bruises. The vet's opinion in that someone broke both her back legs, on purpose, with an object! Can you imagine! And poor Lucy is just 14 weeks old and 5.5 pounds! Who could do such a thing to such a defenseless little girl?

What Lucy Needs

Orthopedic (bone) surgery is required to heal both legs. Her prognosis is good. The bones need to be wired together to grow back properly. Although it is expensive, the price of $2700 for this procedure is very good. Also, her prognosis is good as well, with recovery expected in about 4-6 weeks, at which time she will also be available for adoption!

How You Can Help

Donations are needed to cover the cost of surgery. Angels for Animals cannot afford the sudden and unexpected costs of this urgent surgery! Please help and SHARE Lucy! All donations are paid only to VCA Northside for her surgery! WOOOOOF!
