What would you do if your best friend was hit by a car and couldn’t move?

Well if your a dog you stay by your friends side!

--For UPDATES scroll down, or click the UPDATES tab--

Cindy Dowell was on her way to work when she saw these two. Everyone else was too busy flying by to help. She tried to flag people down, but no one would stop! Fortunately she was able to reach Faith Easdale with Dream Fetchers, and they came and got both dogs. Faith reports to us:

"The little one won’t leave the shepherds side.
The shepherd must have sensed we were helping and just let us move her.💞
The little one put his head on his friend and sighed in relief and went to sleep.

Animals are pure. Animals are loyal. We could learn how we should tear each other by watching them."

Dogs are on their way to the vet now. The Sheppard is seriously injured. We will update with details and more photos and video when we can. All donations are only for their care and paid to their vet only.

Thank you!

---UPDATE #4, Feb 5, 10:30PM---

Marley has had surgery on her rear leg. The surgery was complicated, and she now has a rod in the entire leg, but it went well and now with three days of recovery she can leave the vet temporarily. Her front leg will probably still need to be amputated, but the doctor is taking a slow and cautious approach.

Murphy is fine, highly energetic, and wants to get out of the vet office! He has been neutered.

We really really need a foster home for both of them now! Marley will need to go back for surgery in about a week, and stay for a day or two after that. Then she will need a few weeks recovery in foster. If you, or someone you know could foster them, please contact us at info@freeanimaldoctor.org ASAP!! It is urgent. THANK YOU!

---UPDATE #3, Jan 27th, 1:30PM---

Marly will have to have multiple surgeries. We have the estimate from the vet, click Free_animal_Doctor-01272018 to see the estimate. It is over $4000.00.

We took Murphy to stay with her today:

He will now stay at the vet clinic with her, until the first surgery which is now planned for Monday. Here is a video of Dr. Sidhu explaining Marley's situation and the treatment plan:

---UPDATE #2, Jan 26th, 7:30PM---

We are awaiting a written estimate from the veterinarian, they had some emergencies today and didn't get to it. Verbally Dr. Sidhu has told us $3500-$4000 for Marley. She is stable, no longer in shock, etc... her vitals are good, but the doctor wants to wait a few days before surgery. She will have to lose her rear leg, it simply is too shattered to be saved. The front leg will require a rod and pins, but will probably be saved!

Murphy is at the Irvine vet today. He had a lot of ticks, and needs to be neutered. He had surgery (neuter) today and should be fine tomorrow. We will bring him to Dr. Sidhu's in San Dimas to visit, and possibly stay, with Marley after her surgery.

We are keeping them together, if you know know of anyone that could foster both of them, please let us know info@freeanimaldoctor.org

We are now estimating a total of over $5000.00 for everything. We will be posting the bills and estimate shortly!

---UPDATE #1, Jan 25th, 7:00PM---

They have been named. Marley is the female German Sheppard, and Murphy is the smaller male mix.

Murphy is healthy, but Marley has clearly been hit by a car. Her most severe injures are a shattered front and rear leg. The emergency vet stabilized her, wrapped the legs, and put her on very strong sedatives and pain medications. Her injures are very painful and managing the pain is thus difficult without basically knocking her out :-(

The good news is that there does not appear to be any spinal damage, and she is not paralyzed, though we do not know about the damaged legs themselves yet. Here is video of her at the ER vet:

After this Marley was transported to Dr. Sidhu in San Dimas. Surgery is expected to be $5000.00 but the doctor was not ready to make a specific estimate yet. We will know more tomorrow. She is expected to survive, but we do not know if the injured legs can be saved or not yet. This video is of her at Dr. Sidhu's late in the afternoon. She is conscious in this video, but very sedated:
