Chloe & two sisters abandoned
Sisters are OK, but Chloe has serious broken bones
These three sisters were living rough in a man-made wash in San Bernardino, CA. They had little or no shade, or clean water for weeks, if not longer. And, it turns out, one of them had serious injures perhaps from a car, or an assault. Poor Chloe has a broken leg and pelvis!
In the images below you can see the three sisters as they were observed by Faith Easdale. Faith and her colleagues spent considerable time and effort tracking this girls, preparing traps, and finally catching them in the middle of the night! This was not a good area for anyone to in, especially at night, near the intersection of G Street and Mill Street in San Bernardino, LINK to Google Maps.
It took effort, but Faith managed to catch all three of them! The Saving Huey Foundation is working with Faith to get them all foster homes, and then to help get them adopted. And now Faith and everyone needs YOUR HELP!
The health condition of the sisters
All three have been to the vet, and Cami and Cupcake are healthy and now doing well. All of them were very dehydrated, and are malnourished, but they are young under a year old, perhaps about 9-10 months and strong, and they will recover. The problem is poor Chloe.
She has had some serious trauma, most likely being hit by a car, leaving her with a severely broken pelvis and leg. You do not need to be a veterinarian to see the damage in this x-ray:
The first two doctor's Chloe was taken to recommend she be put-to-sleep, but Faith thought this was too extreme. Yes, amputation of the rear left leg might be necessary, but three legged dogs live great lives! So Faith managed to get Chloe seen by Dr. Sidhu of Day Creek Animal Hospital in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. We at Free Animal Doctor recommend Dr. Sidhu, and were very happy that he was able to see Chloe with such quick notice.
Dr. Sidhu is hoping he can save Chloe's leg. The surgery will be difficult, and the odds are not great, but he is positive enough to try it. If that cannot work out, then he will amputate the leg, but even in this case he sees no reason to put her to sleep... and agrees with Faith and us that she should be perfectly fine as a tripod!
Let's support Faith and help Chloe!
Chloe is a really sweet little girl, clearly under a year-old. She has a whole big long life in front of her, and will be an absolutely great dog for someone! Faith already loves her to death! Of course we hope the leg can be saved, but hey, if not, she will be fine as a tripod! Can you help Chloe by sharing her story far and wide!? Can you help donate to her care? Faith cannot save these dogs without everyone's help, and we all have a roll to play! THANK YOU SO MUCH! WOOF!
